At Elizabeth Seton Children’s, we understand that keeping families close is essential to healing.
For too many families who have a child residing with us at our Center, cost and travel barriers make frequent visits challenging. This is why we created our Home to Home parent and sibling transportation program in 2017. Home to Home enhances transportation options with the goal of strengthening family bonds and giving children and their families the loving support they need.
Each year, we need to raise $50,000 in order to fund this critical program, which helps our families cover travel costs such as MetroCards, Metro-North tickets, bus fares, ridesharing services and taxis.
Did you know that a roundtrip visit using a ridesharing service from Brooklyn to our Center can cost approximately $200? Approximately 80 percent of our families live within the five boroughs of New York City, which is why easing this financial burden is critical.
