Elizabeth Seton Children’s has announced two key leadership appointments that will strengthen the organization’s mission to provide exceptional care to children and young adults living with complex medical conditions.
Dr. Rose Chapman-Rodriguez has been promoted to Chief Nursing Officer of Elizabeth Seton Children’s Center. Chapman-Rodriguez, a certified pediatric nurse practitioner and executive nursing leader, brings 35 years of nursing experience in pediatric cardiology, evidence-based practice, leadership and lean performance improvement.
Since joining the children’s center in August 2025 as Director of Nursing Services, Chapman-Rodriguez has played an instrumental role in implementing key changes that strengthen the children’s center’s innovative care model for children and young adults with complex medical needs.
“Rose’s leadership style is authentic and her professional expertise lies at the intersection of physical and emotional wellbeing, maintaining a culture of respect and providing exceptional care – values that are at the core of our mission,” said Pat Tursi, CEO of Elizabeth Seton Children’s. “We are overjoyed with her accomplishments thus far and look forward to her devoted leadership in the future, especially with the development of our first of its kind young adult center.”
Chapman-Rodriguez earned both her BSN and MSN from Columbia University, completed her Nurse Leadership Fellowship at Duke University and earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Case Western Reserve University. She has published articles in evidence-based nursing, received numerous recognitions for her work in pediatrics and has lectured nationally and internationally on pediatric cardiology, nursing practice and clinical excellence.
Ms. Sarra McGinnis has been named Vice President of External Affairs, expanding her leadership and responsibilities within the organization. In this role, McGinnis will advance Elizabeth Seton Children’s mission through strategic communications and lead its philanthropic initiatives as Executive Director of Elizabeth Seton Children’s Foundation, which oversees the organization’s fundraising efforts.
McGinnis joined Elizabeth Seton Children’s in November 2013 and has served in several leadership roles over the past twelve years. She was promoted to Director of Communications in January 2020 and became Vice President of Communications and Grants in 2023.
“Sarra has been a valued member of our family for twelve years. Her commitment to our children and mission has been evident through the sacrifice, success and brilliance that she shows every day. We are blessed to have Sarra as a leader who brings compassion, vision and excellence to all that she does,” said Tursi.
McGinnis holds a Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in general literature and rhetoric from Binghamton University.
