We celebrate diversity and are committed to inclusivity

It brings us joy to witness the meaningful relationships our staff members are able to build with our children, their families and each other, which is why we ensure that our facility remains a safe space for anyone who enters.

Elizabeth Seton Children’s has a long legacy of fighting discrimination, which is rooted in the story of our sponsors, the Sisters of Charity Ministry Network, who began their work over 200 years ago. The children and families we serve come from diverse backgrounds and we recognize the biases they have endured by society in health care and education and are fiercely committed to eliminating racial discrimination in these sectors and beyond and celebrating inclusiveness and diversity.

As an organization, we believe that we are all God’s children and that all life is sacred. We condemn all forms of hate, racism, discrimination and systemic injustice. Emblazoned on the wall of our lobby at Elizabeth Seton Children’s Center to greet each visitor are the words of our foundress, St. Elizabeth Seton: “All are Welcome.”

Grow with us

Elizabeth Seton Children’s is thrilled to announce that we are expanding our footprint and growing our team with the development of the Elizabeth Seton Young Adult Center – slated to open in fall 2024.

The Elizabeth Seton Young Adult Center will be the first home of its kind in the world for young adults with chronic medical conditions who have aged out of specialized, pediatric care at age 21. Located in White Plains, this facility will be adjacent to Elizabeth Seton Children’s Rehabilitation Center and Elizabeth Seton Children’s School.

While hospitals, nursing homes and medical facilities in our region that have been around for decades and even centuries are closing their doors, Elizabeth Seton Children’s continues to evolve with the times and expand to meet the changing needs of the health care landscape.
